Almost Daily Devotion

I often joke about my inability to do a daily devotional reading more often than once every other day. I say that in part because I think many of us feel so guilty for not reading every day, so I just want to encourage you to read as often as you can. I know there are things that come up, sleep that is interrupted, or opppotunities that preclude your daily devotional time.
I also say that, because I believe it is important for people to have a realistic view of who I am. I am not a spiritual giant. I am no different than most of you except, of course, for those who do their daily devotional EVERY day. I try, I struggle, but I also continue on, and you can also. In fact, if you need to, you can start again, for remember that "Today" is the first day of the rest of your life.
But I have to tell you how excited I am, because for the fifth day in a row I was able to read my two daily devotionals.
I think it is important for us to celebrate those mini-milestones. I think we need to acknowledge those times when we make a small step forward. Life throws enough challenges at us. We need to experience those pockets of joy and revel in them.
So today if you read your devotional, celebrate. If it was yesterday you read it, then celebrate. If tomorrow you read it then celebrate and remember God is a God of joy not just the almighty challenger.

Have a great celebration.
