The wanderer

Rusty is back on the circuit again. Our cat has been house bound for about five days due to a lost battle with another cat the other night. Rusty visited the vet and I was able to practice my pill giving abilities, dodging claws, with the prescribed antibiotics for the past week. This also meant Rusty had to stay inside to keep the wounds clean.
Yesterday he was set free from his prison and was soon again roaming the streets and making friends. Before I left for work this morning a middle school girl brought him to our door, because, "He was across the street and he was scared." Well I saw another friend this morning who had seen him across the street also and they said he was reveling in the attention from a whole gaggle of kids.
Rusty reminds us of the importance of wandering among others, it is not only to exercise our freedom of movement, but also an opportunity to make new friends. Too often we confine ourselves in our own houses and entertain ourselves without connecting to others.
I hope today to spend some time wandering and making new friends. Some may think I am just wandering or just scared to be alone, but I know God has called us to develop relationships and we can't do that just within our own four walls, be that of our house or our church.
So, Rusty, thanks for the reminder, maybe I will see some of you wandering today also.

Peace,

Pastor Randy
